The Philosophy/Ethos of Ridge School
To realise the mission of the school, we aim:
- To create a secure, safe, happy and caring environment for all children conducive for their educational, emotional and social development, fostering self-control and consideration for others and promoting self esteem.
- To promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils and begin preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life in a global world.
These aims are achieved through the curriculum and through the various standards and frameworks put in place in the school. Our planning, overall ethos and values contribute to our pupils’ learning and understanding, both of themselves and the world in which they are expected to play a constructive role. Account is taken of special needs, special talents, providing equal opportunity and embracing cultural differences.
